Staff Update

A message from our Centre Manager Matt

Hello Sizewell Hall Guests and Supporters,

As you may have wondered based on the title of the newsletter, I have made the difficult decision to leave my role as Centre Manager after this year’s summer season here at Sizewell Hall. This has certainly not been an easy decision and not one I expected to make this year, but I am now sure that this is the right time for me to move on to a new challenge and I believe it comes at an exciting time in the life of Sizewell Hall for someone new to step into the role and build into the future.

As some of you will know, my wife Kez and I welcomed our son Asa into the world on Good Friday. In recent months, his impending arrival forced Kez and I to consider, more seriously, the long-term plan for how we balance family life with my work at Sizewell Hall. Living near Ipswich, we are fortunate to have the support of lots of family and our church community around us and so the prospect of potentially moving to the Hall or continuing the long commute presented a challenge to us as we take on being parents for the first time. As we prayerfully considered what the next steps might be a role came up in Ipswich and it quickly became clear that this was the right next step.

It's important to us that I am able to leave Sizewell Hall as well as I can and make sure things are prepared for the next manager to hit the ground running. So, I have been able to give an extended notice period until September to hopefully minimise the impact on the day to day running of Sizewell Hall and keep momentum building as the Hall seeks to raise the money for the purchase of the site at the end of the year.

Sizewell Hall has been a huge part of mine and my families lives and it has been a real privilege to work here over the last 6+ years and play a part in stabilising things after some difficult years during and following the Covid closure.

Thank you to the staff and trustees who have supported me throughout my time at the hall. Thank you to everyone who has worked with us and brought churches and groups to the Hall over these 6 years. It’s been a joy to serve alongside you and get to know you, and I hope to see you at future Sizewell Hall events in the coming years.

For now, its business as usual as we prepare for a busy summer season where I am sure we will continue to see God work in the lives of those who visit the hall, as we do every year!

Thank you,
Matt
